As part of its educational and research activities, the Maritime Museum of Barcelona is involved in a series of projects of an international scope, all devised with the aim of spreading knowledge about maritime culture and establishing links with other associated institutions and museums.

One of the key strategies of the Maritime Museum of Barcelona is to work cooperatively, which allows us to build projects with other organizations, working towards synergy and more effective use of resources to better preserve, study and promote maritime heritage and culture. With this principle of collaboration based on exchanging and enriching our knowledge, the Museum seeks to actively establish connections with other organizations, either by creating new structures, through leadership, or with our participation in new networks, associations, alliances or projects.

Read moreFriends, Volunteers and Collaborators
The figure of the volunteer has gained presence in the Museum over the past few years. The Museum incorporates the knowledge and experience of generous individuals while allowing those who would like to become a part of our community to do so in their free time. The Department for Managing Collections and Knowledge receives regular assistance from volunteers and collaborators, whether in the photographic archive, the research area or the library. As a result, this department has a special, open and cross-disciplinary relationship with the part of our society most in touch with maritime history and culture.

Publications
The aim of the Maritime Museum of Barcelona’s editorial policy is to promote maritime history and culture in the aspects of promotion, loyalty, scientific dissemination and research. These publications are also important communication tools that help to boost the institution’s overall image.
