Vessels

This is a wooden vessel with a lateen sail, a llagut d’encesa or llagut de foc (fire boat) built on the beach at Roses in 1906 by shipwright Pere Guitart Pujol. This boat is the last of its kind on the Catalan coast to maintain the form, elements, materials and characteristics of this traditional Catalan fishing ship from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is 5.98 meters long, has a beam of 1.80 meters, and a depth of 0.60 meters.

Lola conserves its original characteristics because it was repared and retored according to very strict historical criteria. On February 26th, 2009, the General Management of Cultural Heritage of the Government of Catalonia declared the boat a Cultural Object of National Interest.
