Engravings and lithographs

Chalcography from the book Voyage pittoresque et historique de l’Espagne, by Alexandre de Laborde, published by Pierre Didot in Paris in 1806. It shows the seafront and the port of Barcelona in great detail, as seen from the beginning of the dock of the old port. A great deal of maritime activity can be seen, as can the sea wall and the city’s main coastal buildings. This is one of the most famous and carefully made views of the city from the beginning of the 19^th century.
