BROMOIL PRINTS. PICTORIALIST PHOTOGRAPHY BY JOAQUIM PLA JANINI

Handy information
BROMOIL PRINTS. PICTORIALIST PHOTOGRAPHY BY JOAQUIM PLA JANINI
An exhibition that shows the relationship between the work of Joaquim Pla Janini, pictorialist photography and the sea. This is a unique opportunity to disseminate the work of this photographer, as well as to look at an unknown and little studied aspect of his work focused on the sea, showing for the first time the collection of the 34 bromoil transfer prints belonging to the Barcelona Maritime Museum collection.

The author's career is contextualised within the socio-cultural situation of the time. It reflects the links he had with the Pictorialism movement, his relations with other photographers and photographic groups of the time, and the positioning of his work both nationally and internationally through competitions and exhibitions, the singularity of the photographic technique he used, and something of the photographer's personal life.
