Social Responsibility

Social Responsibility is the policy of institutions who guide their economic, social and environmental actions responsibly, working towards sustainable development and helping build a better society. Through CSR, the Maritime Museum reinforces its commitment to society and encourages a way of governing and guiding the organization’s value chain that is based on transparency and sustainability.

Without people, there would be no CSR. Social responsibility is characterized by its broad nature; it should be understood as a new culture that can be applied in all areas, and therefore it is the result of work by all the Museum’s areas and teams. CSR is also the result of our relationship with the interest groups in contact with our institution.

CSR is also based on transparency. Therefore, we publish our sustainability reports twice a year. These are available in digital form, and they allow all interested parties to participate in the value chain.

Our social responsibility values are:

Being an institution committed to our surroundings, that provides social values to our local area and to citizens.
Being a social museum committed to people, one that values inclusion and solidarity and helps to build a better society.
Standing out as an organization with policies and actions that guarantee better working conditions, gender equality and equal opportunity, motivation, workplace health and safety.
Commitment to the environment, with environmental management as an essential part of our actions.
An institution with a governing model based on responsible management, transparency and accountability.
