RIM is a technological platform supported by Medium SPA that integrates the Museum’s archival collections and bibliographical documents, providing access for consultation and making them visible from a single entry point. If we were to define the RIM with two key words, they would be “integration” and “dissemination”.
The RIM was created to address two of the main objectives of the Managing Museum Information (GIM) project: integrate corporate information resources and give technological support to the Maritime Museum of Barcelona’s information management system.
Through RIM, we connect data generated by the Museum and housed in individual applications of the corporate management system and we associate them, on the one hand, with the associated documents (files) and, on the other, with complementary documents produced for third-party applications.
The result is a single access platform for consulting the information resources generated and managed by the Maritime Museum of Barcelona.
